With the OP comment it seems it was well known after the PvP event but kept under wraps thus giving people a chance to take advantage during the FPE knowing once everything was over things would locked all but their armor they had on. One of the pictures I took is HoH while the one with the Necro, Mesmer, Monks, where in the top 10 Guilds and others in the top 100.

sure, the skills are locked, but skills arent actually visible to others that are pvp'in like the armours are....are they *that* much better than the tyrian versions that it makes a real difference in a pvp match?

i guess its like letting them show adverts for the new colors a console or car will be comming in..a way to suck folks into buying factions...
'gee, thats some spanky armour you got there, bub..where did you get that?'
'oh? its my Factions stuff.....i was at the preview and they let us keep the stuff on pvp only chars...if you want a set, you will have to buy Factions when it comes out.'
'oh..ok '

see?
If that’s the case then why such a controversy over the HoD sword and Lieutenants Helm? Till Factions comes out the armor is as equal to the HoD sword and Lieutenants Helm. Factions Skills and certain items are locked out for two reasons, they are Factions Based which means you must own factions to obtain these things, See the above comment by Gaile Gary. secondly it’s not April 28th. I seem to keep repeating these two points.

Didn't we all agree a while back that +HP isn't much better than many of the other bonuses?

I mean, let the warrior have waht, 60 more health? I didn't add them up. That's about one or two hits. They give up the possible energy or other bonuses if they want it.

So for me, I see no problem. And no, I don't have a character with nifty armor.

Where is your Warrior, pre-searing?!?

I assume you meant PvP - well, let's use this test: Can anyone else make a Warrior with Sentinel armor now? If you wanted, could you make another one?

No. It's an exploit... or were we all supposed to make W/x with Beserker armor before the event ended...

The very fact that the Assassin skills can't be used should tell you "hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be able to do this..."
Argh, my bad. I DID mean PvP. Sorry about that. And no, I cannot make a character with Sentinel armor now. But I can keep the old one if I like and so could anyone else, if they indeed didn't delete them... I personally don't see it as much of an exploit, but I do see how I was just lucky to not have deleted my character; it's not like we were told beforehand that we could keep our PvP characters.

That I can't use my Assassin skill doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to use my character; he's crippled for life and absolutely useless, but if we weren't allowed I guess the Anet team would just delete our PvP characters like they did with our PvE characters, wouldn't they?

It still doesn't look like a bug to me... If anything, I don't understand why they don't just delete the characters with Factions armor if it's such a big problem.

And for the record, I wasn't exactly asking why I couldn't make more Sentinel armor. I was answering Mordacai's question, actually.

I don't understand either. I think they should.

I wouldn't really mind them deleting my PvP character. He's useless and only there because he's my prototype concept warrior. No real use for him.

The problem is some of them are PvE characters that travelled to Factions during the Preview.

No PvE character from GW:P went to Cantha during the preview, you had to make a new character in order to access the GW:F content.
